Sean has more than fifteen years of experience in international feature-length and short-form documentary filmmaking. As both a director and producer, his films and global advocacy work have impacted millions around the world. He began filming in IDP camps in Northern Uganda in 2000 and has since interviewed over a thousand people across five continents. His filmmaking is grounded in sustained, empathetic engagement with stories of trauma and the lived realities of difference—from racial injustice and religious conflict to cultural dislocation and economic disparity. In every film, Sean seeks to partner with story subjects through a practice of deep listening and a commitment to honoring the yearning, hope, and emotional truth that propel documentary storytelling.
